How to Get Visitation Rights to a Child Born Outside of Marriage
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: ia. I have a son with a women and we no longer speak. I have not been able to see him since his birthday in may. She filled for child support and I plead no contest with no DNA. Meaning I didn't object to him being mine. I was not put on the birth certificate at birth. So my question is did my name get put on it when she filled for child support? And if it is and there is no visitation rights in place can I see him at any time? Because she has been holding him and won't return calls. Or any other of her and my family.

You have no enforceable right to see the child until there is a court order for visitation. Without that you only get to see your child if and when mom decides that you do. Get yourself to court, and get an order,

These two sites may help you figure out your next move. One is from the Iowa courts, the other is the actual statutes.

Dad was thinking of picking up the child.... when he's not entitled to do so.

I think we should link to anxiousdad's threads. Lessons to be learned - and he was actually married to Mom (!).
