Can Parents of a Teen Mother Keep Her Boyfriend From Seeing His Child
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: California
While in highschool, my son started dating his girlfriend with her parents consent & approval, during which time he turned 18 before he graduated last june. He is now 19, she is 16 and now they have a 4 month old daughter. His girlfriend wants to be with him, but her guardians recently decided they wanted to keep them away from each other. He was at the hospital once his daughter was born and has fallen completely in love with being a daddy. he has given her money, as well as diapers, wipes, clothes. He has made every effort to see his daughter any chance he gets, but thee gfs' family keep making excuses only allowing him to see her for brief moments on their time. weve offered to pick her up and drop her off. that went well for afew times(once a week for 3 weeks), then they started making excuses. They say that the gf didnt do her chores or homework so she was grounded, meaning "she cant come over therfore the baby cant either"..Recently we heard from the gf, that the parents are putting a restraining order on my son to stay away and INCLUDING HIS BABY on it! Can they do that and terminate any rights he has? Im aware that because the gf is still a minor, they can get a stay order for them to date until shes 18, but can they make him wait til then to see his daughter too? Please help me. Im a desperate grandma (my first grandbaby), and i miss her so much already. I dont want to see my son heartbroken believing he has no rights to his daughter. So many deadbeat dads, children without fathers & my son wants nothing more than to be the best daddy...

Then Son needs to act like an adult, file to have paternity/child support/visitation/custody ordered by the court.

Yes, he has an appointment to get help filling out the paperwork for joint legal/physical custody, which also should include visitation & child support for his daughter. Hes not trying to deny her, has already signed paternity declaration as well as birth certificate on her..he has been helping her financially but now they wont even allow him around their home to drop anything off or to see the baby.

Once court orders are in place they won't be able to do that.
However, you need to realize that your 18/19 year old son should not have been dating a 15/16 year old girl, let alone having sex with her, let alone impregnating her. That could cause your son some legal grief.
