What Typically Happens with a MIP Charge
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Missouri
I recently got a ticket for an MIP. I was not the driver of the car, I wasn't the owner of the car, I was just a passenger and had no idea they had alcohol in the car. We were not breathilized, so as far as they no we were not drunk. We didn't do a sobriety test either. I was wondering what the typical consequence for this was; I have a completely clean record and have never had contact with police before. Also, my court date is the same day I'm suppose to report to college, will I have an issue moving it up or will that be fine?
Re: What Typically Happens with an MIP
You can call the court clerk and see if the date can be moved but that might not be possible. It's not that serious of charge but it can still be a misdemeanor, according this site you have your license suspended.
