Why Do Abusive Parents Get the Child Back
My question involves child abuse or neglect in the State of: Indiana
I have noticed that Indiana tends to favor mothers in custody cases. I know its illegal for a judge to give custody to the mom just because shes the mom. But a lot of judges do it. Why is that? I have a friend whos ex wife had custody of their daughter. The ex wife was on herion and several other drugs. She had her boyfriend living with her and he beat her and the little girl regularly. When the court put a protective order in place so the moms bf couldnt be around the child, the mom let her bf be around her daughter. Well they gave custody to my friend and the mom got overnight visits with no supervision. Then they gave her custody back. But I know that if it had been the father that had been on drugs and putting the child in danger then he'd only get short supervised visits. So why do judges constantly put kids in harms way like that?
