    How Can a Child Get Emancipated in Ohio
    My question involves medical malpractice in the state of: I live with my grandma and I've been currently living here for seven years I thought living with my grandma will be better than my mom and my mom willingly sign over rights to my grandma living here has been bad she does not take me to my doctors appointments like she is too she used to be abusive but then it stopped because I start calling the cops she gets so security check for me every month and none of it goes on me. she's just not a good fit some time she lets me skip school for the heck of a or sometime she makes me skip school to help out with her I want to be emancipated I can live with my dad and I have a 19-year-old boyfriend that's going to take me I get a Social Security check every month so that I can live off of until I get a job! I just don't know how to do this or what help I need

    This is not even remotely related to medical malpractice. How old are you? No judge is going to emancipate a minor to shack up with their adult boyfriend. What state are you in? We ask that information for a reason.

    This has what to do with medical malpractice? And why are you refusing to provide the name of your state?

    OP has indicated that her location is Uniontown Ohio. So, I'm willing to bet that she is in Ohio.

    Ohio will emancipate a minor under two, and only two, conditions;

    1.) The minor has been lawfully married
    2.) The minor is a member of the active armed forces

    There are NO exceptions. EVER. NONE.

    Derp. Reading is fundamental. Not that it's an excuse but it is easier when they chose to include the question that is there when they start the thread.

    And note #1 requires not only consent of the parent (or guardian) but you have to convince a judge to authorize it. He will apprise whether you have been sufficiently counseled into the decision you are making (he may make you take a class). You must be at least 16.

    And #2, you need to be at least 17 and have parental consent.

    If you want to live with Dad, he needs to get the custody (which shouldn't be hard if he's willing).

    Indeed.

    Re: Warranty, Safety ,
    In Ohio, your paths to emancipation are (1) reaching the age of 18), (2) entering into a lawful marriage, or (3) active duty military service.
