Changing a Child's Last Name to the Mother's
My question involves name change laws in the State of: California

I want to change my son's last name to my (the mother) last name. His father never signed the birth certificate & has no rights what so ever. I have a restraining order against him for the both of us. I also have Sole, legal, and physical custody of my son. So my question is, am I able to change his name without notifying the "father" ?
