Fleeing and Eluding to Avoid a DUI Traffic Stop
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: ohio my buddy was on his crotch rocket he had been drinking left the bike night event was speeding a cop tried to pull him over was able to get his plate he sped up and fled away lost that officer another officer pursued was able to photo id him but he was able to get away again went and hid.the bike and tried to report the bike stolen. When he called 911 non emergency to report it they ran the vin and told him he had to call the detective handling the case because the bike was involved in a felony crime. He had a felony warrant for this turned himself in and tried to fight the charge. He ended up taking it to trial and taking the alfred north carolina plea deal he ended up getting probation but his question and the whole reason for the post is can he go get his motorcycle and sell it since he plead to the charge and was never able to report it stolen? He didnt have full coverage on it.so no check was cut by the insurance company but he did call the insurance company and told them it was stolen and to take his liability coverage off the bike but a police report was NEVER filed.

So he made a false report to his insurance company, but he had no coverage for theft such that no claim was processed or paid based on that false report? And he made no false police report about the supposed theft?
We have no way of knowing the present status of the motorcycle. We don't know if it is police impound or private impound, or how long it has been there. For all we know it has been sold to pay off unpaid impound and storage fees. If the motorcycle remains in impound, your friend can determine how much money he will need to pay in order to get it out of impound, and what documentation he will need to present at the time he recovers the motorcycle from impound.

The bike never went to impound he ran from the police and then hid the bike tried to report it stolen they wouldnt let him because it was used in a felony crime so the bike never ended up being reported stolen he plead to a lesser charger in court and received probation he wants to kno if he can go get his bikefrom where he hid it at without gettijg in trouble

Try avoiding run on sentences, and using punctuation and paragraphs.
I couldn't even make it through that.

I apologize! Were you able to get thru that enough to have an answer? He wants to go get his bike from storage and sell it but is afraid they could bring more charges upon him. Like I stated before he never was able to file a police report to try and report it stolen when he first ran from the police.
