Do you have a right to a lawyer in a divorce case?
When you are getting divorced do you have a right to an attorny just like when you commit a crime?

Also, can a spouse REFUSE to sign papers?

Q: When you are getting divorced do you have a right to an attorny just like when you commit a crime?

A: No. Some places, however, have lawyers who will represent you for free or for low rates. Ask around.

Q: Also, can a spouse REFUSE to sign papers?

A: Well, that's an extremely general question so the extremely general answer is: it depends.

If you want to give us facts and details, that would help.

    Sorry...

I live in Maine. I was wondering if there were any lawyers around here who would represent you for free and how I would go about finding one.

Also, when I say 'papers' I mean the divorce papers that say that you're legally divorced once they are signed. I forget the name of them. >.<
