I think that means she lied on her DOT physical exam form.

If she didn't disclose her medication history, she can get away with not disclosing it on the DOT forms as long as she doesn't get into a reportable DOT accident.

But once in a reportable accident, she must report for a DOT5 drug screen. Then they will look into her medical card and see if that information was disclosed.

It is a Federal crime to lie on a DOT exam form and a medical card obtained with fraudulent information is void, therefore if she lied, her medical card is no good and her CDL is no good for operating a commercial vehicle. As a matter of fact, I am getting ready to go through the entire horse and pony show for my next Federal Security check and hazmat testing, not knowing if I will ever pass one again. Talk about a potential waste of money. I even need a ride to the check station. It is to far for me to drive there safely.

Right, I'm well aware of the crime of not disclosing medication on an exam form. I'm just simply stating that most drivers get away with it until a reportable accident and DOT picks up their magnifying glass.

I was so fearful the next morning that I blacked out before leaving my home.

That is alarming, and a sign that you should not be driving a school bus.

I am a merchant mariner. We are subject to many of the same type of rules and regulations. We take physicals mandated by the US Coast Guard, we also take physicals required by our employers, and we are almost as restricted on our medication choices as airline pilots. This for very good reason- the NTSB reports are filled with vessel mishaps attributed to medication, fatigue, lack of sleep, etc. So I am concerned about this comment, now knowing you use lorazepam.

The DOT is not very forgiving about not reporting medication that you began between physicals. Especially Schedule drugs!

Take a look at this FAQ from the DOT website.

    http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/faq/my-medi...e-medical-cond

You are obligated, even if you have a current medical card, to renew or get clearance for any medications you began after your last medical. I am assuming you were honest on your last one. Being dishonest makes things more complicated, because an accident will trigger subpoenas that will pull up all your medical records and they will know exactly when you began the use of benzos.

These are kids you are driving around. Get yourself sorted out, and maybe look at a different line of work so long as you use these medications. Life happens. Get the help you need and put yourself in a better situation!

No one owes you a meeting with the Parent. Again it sounds like you are making a Federal Case out of this situation. Just let it go and move on. If a driver of a car stopped me and tried to prevent my leaving the parking lot I would just try to leave peacefully if there was no crime committed.

Then I would report it to my supervisor if it was on the job who would then call the Police. I would not want any contact with the hostile person for feel of retaliation.

People really try to feed the fire and no wonder they are fired or asked to leave their current position.

If you lied on the DOT physical exam forum then be prepared for a Felony as under the perjury of the law you provided information that is meant to be truthful to the best of your knowledge. If you had new medications its YOUR responsibility to update the form.

Your physician I''m sure had to sign the form and if he or she lied then his or her license can be at stake .

It would be better for you to be reassigned to another position than be charged with a Felony. The DOT is a Government Department so if you lied on your form this would be a Federal Offense and any jobs working with the Government or Education etc may not be in your future depending on the outcome of their findings.

If you were indeed not supposed to operate a motor vehicle with your medication and under your doctor's\ orders not to then what do you think you were doing operating a vehicle under a strong medication?

If the medication were not a part of this situation then you may have been given a warning or just had a talk with your supervisor if you indeed left the stop at the prescribed time.

I look forward to your update on the situation,
