I have a domain which I registered 2011 and is a .Com my site got popular and we had an administator who decided to create his own site under the same name but under .org domain.
Is there anyway I could get the .org to shutdown as they have copied my domain name?
Do you have any registered trademarks related to the site/domain? Is the other person operating the same type of website/offering the same services at the .org domain?
We don't have trademarks, should we get one?

You should have registered all the .XXX if you wanted to protect all the possible domains. You might be able to go after them on copyright of the website but if you are using purchased software for your site you have little luck.

You need to research a bit and attempt to understand trademark laws. You do not have to register a mark for it to be "your" mark but you do have to use the mark in commerce such that it gains trademark status. I don't know if the term you are using qualifies as a trademark or not though. That is why you need to research it.
With that, you may have a claim he cease the use of your trademark but again, with such little to go on, not able to say with any certainty.
