What's the Penalty for Harassing an Ex-Girlfriend
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington
I had planned on telling my old "flame's" girlfriend of his infidelity. (I had no idea she existed). However, instead of being shrewd enough to go directly to her, I lost my head and now I've hit an impasse of my own making. If I were to proceed with telling her, I know very well he could potentially retaliate with a restraining order and telephone harassment charges. I want nothing to tarnish my clean record and background, however, I feel a little more than cowardly for not telling her, not to mention extremely stupid. If that were to happen, how likely is it that a first time offender would be convicted? Can I plead temporary insanity? Stupidity?
How hard is it to have a record expunged/sealed?
Should I expect it to be a pretty expensive venture?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Based on what you have written here, I think you already know what the smart thing would be. Leave it alone.
