Is an Israeli Divorce Valid in the U.S.
My question involves a marriage in the state of California 7 Israel
Got married in 1991 in California in the city court and again again in Israel in 1992 in a traditional marriage recognized by the State of Israel. I got divorce in Israel in 1996 but never filled or recorded my divorce in California (I notified the American Embassy in Tel-Aviv )
My question is; is my marriage recognized by the state of California? If so, how long it takes for the divorce to become legal in California? How long it takes to record my case in Los Angeles city court?
    Thanks

Why wouldn't your marriage be recognized by the state of California? You had a civil ceremony there, it's valid.

Were both you and your spouse residents of Israel when you divorced? If so, your divorce is valid here.

It's not necessary to record your divorce in CA buy you certainly have the option of doing so.

You need only take your documents to the county recorder where you live now and submit the documents for recording.

You'll probably need originals of the documents or certified copies.

How long the recording process takes is a question you get answered when you ask it at the time you submit your documents.
