Asking Judge to Require Marriage Counseling Before Finalizing a Divorce
My question involves a marriage in the state of: Arkansas
What is necessary to ask a judge to require that parents get counseling before finalizing a divorce? Two kids are involved.
Husband had a one night stand but confessed to wife, who wants the divorce. Husband wants to save the marriage. Can the husband go to the judge and ask that they get marriage counseling before conitinuing with the divorce proceedings???
Re: Asking Judge to Require Marriage Counseling Before Finalizing a Divorce
You can ask for anything; but the judge isn't going to force the Mrs. into counseling, not even in Arkansas, which is one of the three states with pretty strict requirements for divorce. (There are lots of reasons for this.) Husband needs a time machine to go back and get counseling BEFORE he cheated on his wife.

Counseling is not going to change the fact hubby cheated. Explaining how it is he came to have the need to do so and obtaining forgiveness is not going the job of a counselor. He needs to handle this one himself.
