Can You Change the Original Charge on a Criminal Record
My question involves criminal records for the state of: Arkansas

I was originally arrested for what they said was rape. They then changed the charge to sexual assault third degree. Once i bonded out my lawyer got them to drop it down to a nonsexual misdameanor charge since I have never been in any type of trouble. But now I have where I was booked in for rape and that is not what I'm being charged with. Is there any way that those charges can be changed to show what I'm reslly being charged with so it will stop effecting me trying to get new employment?

    Re: Changing Charge Info
Most arrests (booking charges) are not reportable to most employers - convictions can be. But, if they do a web search and find your name on a jail list there's not much you can do about that. You can always point them to the court website or present court info that shows what you were ultimately charged and convicted of. It is highly unlikely that you can get a jail to change what you were booked for because you WERE booked on those charges
