Non-Custodial Parent Refuses to Work
My question involves child support in the State of: Oklahoma
The non-custodial parent isn't paying child support (because she quit her "new" job already) and she has told us that she is no longer going to seek employment because her boyfriend makes enough to provide for her household. However this means she will continue to NOT pay her child support obligations for our 2 children in my custody. She is $10,133.93 in arrears as of the first of this month, at the rate of only $250 a month which is equal to 40 months arrears. What am I supposed to do about this? Am I just supposed to accept that I will never get child support because she refuses to be employed? I have contacted Oklahoma Child Support enforcement and they just give me the run around, no one seems to care because she is the mother. Please advise.
Sidenote: I have sought enforcement via license revocation, etc. but they don't follow up on any of it and always tell me it's "in the queue.":wallbang::wallbang:
Re: Non-Custodial Parent Refuses to Work
You also have the option of bringing her to court for a contempt motion.
And so far, for some reason, I cannot find contempt forms for OK.
So, we'll start here: http://public.esquireempire.com/9+Th...upport+in+2009
And see what else we can find!
Re: Non-Custodial Parent Refuses to Work
Did you go through OK CSEA to establish the order? If so, they'll get to it. If not, then you can turn over the order to them for enforcement.
