Can I Emancipate if I Don't Get Along With My Parents
I am 16 and I'm holding a steady job. Me and my parents do not get along at all and one of my coworkers said I could live with them if I could get emancipated and my parents will not agree to the emancipation so do I need their permission. I live in Alabama

You do not qualify for emancipation.

Read the numerous threads here about it.

You cannot get emancipated in Alabama until you are 18 years old (age of Majority is 19). You will have to have the permission of the parents for this to happen.

Age of majority designated as 19 years.

    (a) Any person in this state, at the arrival at the age of 19 years, shall be relieved of his or her disabilities of minority and thereafter shall have the same legal rights and abilities as persons over 21 years of age. I can't think of any state where you don't need your parents' at least implied permission offhand. And it certainly cannot be done without their knowledge in any state.

In your state, under your circumstances, it cannot be done at all.

(FYI - "My parents and I don't get along" is not grounds for emancipation anywhere in the US)

Good Lord, don't they teach basic grammar in AL? Try "My parents and I...."

Is that a question at the end of that run-on sentence?

Recommendation: less complaining about parents, more time spent in English class.

Yes they do teach grammar in Alabama schools. But not all students pay attention. :sorrow:
