Can You Get Emancipated Once You Turn 18

My question involves juvenile law in the State of Pennsylvania. I am a 17 year old teen. I will be 18 in 5 months. I am the oldest of 11 chidren. All of whom live in the same house hold. When I turn 18 I plan on moving out an finnishing my senior year of high school on my own. Liviving in a house with 10 other kids and oone adult is too distracting, and really crowding. I am financialy stable, with 2 primary jobs, and one side job. I have an interview to change to a higheraying job really soon but my mother told me that she is not allowing me to move out when I am 18. I feel that I will b better off on my own instead of having to handle my responsibilities and all of my siblings reonsibilities. Can I get emancated on my own when I turn 18 or do I need her signature?

I believe you will find you are an adult when you turn 18 and do not require emancipation.

You don't need to be "emancipated" at 18.

In PA the age of majority is 18.

That means you'll be an adult (except for alcohol) and you don't need anybody's consent to move out.

Although it's perfectly frightful that you're on the verge of being lawfully emancipated (simply by turning 18) and you have no clue how to spell it. No wonder the US falls so low on the world education scale.

I know how to spell emancipated. Also, the word when, but my smartphone does not. I am an a and b student in school and feel indulted by that comment. You should be ashamed, judging people without knowing what is going on. That is what is wrong with some people these days, judge first, ask questions later.

Then correct your smart phone. There is no excuse for that kind of sloppiness.

Again, she has no say once you turn 18.

Just be sure you keep in mind that she also does not have to let you take anything that she owns, if your car, furniture, computer, etc are actually hers then she does not have to let you take them.

There are people out there who are better off on their own at 18, and you may be one of them, just make sure you are weighing all of the pros and cons before you move out.

I pay for everything I have.

You pay for your own food, clothing, health insurance, transportation? You personally bought and paid for your bed, dresser, computer, car, chairs and tables?
