Permanent Green Card Interview
Is a guilty plea to a violation, disorderly conduct be considered for denial for permanent residency?
Will USCIS ask what the original charge was?
If it was for a minor shopping lifitng case that was plead down would it have to be explained?
What is your opinion on this matter?
Re: Permanent Green Card Interview
Any criminal conviction can be held against you. Most likely, though, even if it were regarded as a crime of moral turpitude due to its being premised on stealing, it would be treated as falling under the petty offense exception so as to not prevent your obtaining permanent residency. If you are concerned, the only way to get an accurate assessment of your situation is to consult an immigration lawyer.
