How to Get Unemployment to Pay Out on a Claim
I used to be a person who would strive to change from within, or walk in another's shoes for perspective. Yesterday my landlord was waiting for me at my door as I had just come home with my son.
It was bad enough that I drove him home in car whose insurance had lapsed, with a searing headache from not being able to afford a refill on all of my migraine medication. But this humiliation was a new defining moment in my 54 years on this earth. I am owed over 8,000 dollars from unemployment, and this is the end of the 7th week.
I have made calls everyday for 2 weeks to every number they have provided.
How do I get through to the next lawyer of this bureaucracy to free up my funds? Someone needs to step in. This ride has been awful, I m sure I m not alone.
Thanks

May I ask how you calculated the numbers?
The max weekly benefit in MA is $650, give or take.
9 (the thread title) x 650 = $5850
7 (your statement) x 650 =$4550

Massachusetts has a series of walk-in centers where you can go regarding unemployment issues. You can generally get information much faster there than by calling.

I don't know if MA requires cars to be insured, but breaking the law in this regard is NOT going to make things better if you get caught. It'll only make it worse than it already is. As to the meds, have you not heard about Obamacare? If you're not working, it's a pretty good bet that you're eligible for MA's version of Medicaid. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, and help yourself. If you're not working, you've got plenty of time on your hands.

MA does require cars to be insured. For the record.
And MA is the state that pioneered the model that the ACA was built from. We had health exchanges before anyone in any other state had heard of them.
The MA version of Medicad is Mass Health, in case anyone needs to know. :)
