    Can a Pregnant Teen Run Away to Get Married
    My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Hi, I asked a question here regarding how a pregnant 16 year old can get emancipated and the inquiry was mistakenly removed. I have master plan to get emancipated and my fiancé and I are going to go to gerogia to get married, as we won't need consent there. My question is how can we establish residency there before getting married so to avoid any potential issues? Where do we need to go to fill out a marriage application and certificate? Thanks

    And since we are taking a bus to GA so there a gap until we get there that my mom could take legal action right? How do I prove emotional abuse and terminate her parental rights? That's only If she tries to stop us before we are wed in an emergency plan, then my boyfriend will take custody of me

    I guess you missed the part in your last thread where the exception to the age requirement due to pregnancy is no longer in force.

    LMAOOO oh child. Please.

    I'd tell you to go back to bed, but it appears you've spent more time in someone's bed than you should have been doing.

    No - it says that as of July 2006, the loophole allowing younger teens to marry if they're pregnant has been taken away.

    It does not say that pregnant 16 year olds can no longer marry without consent.

    I talked to a lawyer and he said I could pay him a certain amount of money and he will represent me in getting a court order to marry

    doesn't make any difference who is representing you. They specifically removed that section of the law that allowed a pregnant minor to get married.

    Guys, seriously, this OP came right out from under emancipation bridge. The initial post was priceless. Keep walking. Do not feed the wildlife.

    <Sigh>

    WHAT STATE DO YOU LIVE IN? (That doesn't mean where you HOPE to live if the authorities don't catch up to you, it means where you live with mommy right now)

    Also, once again, on the off-chance that you can delude some poor court to perform the wedding for you in GA, there are laws in your home state and federal laws that will have been broken and depending on the laws in your home state and the interest of the feds, you could be hauled back home and one or both of you could be prosecuted for crimes!

    Most states make it a crime to lure dependent minors away from home against their parents wishes.

    Going to jail for a little while is a risk he's willing to take he said and we'd be back together after that but it'd take a bored cop to prosecute 2 teens in love. They should worry about the rapists and murderers wandering the streets
