Note: My original statement regarding my shopping practices was false, as I was quite impaired from my binge drinking yesterday. I have a binge drinking problem. I am VERY high functioning when I drink. Its to the point where I sound (and type) coherently. I read the story I wrote above and its baffling to me that I created such a plausible story of an event that didnt happen anything like the way I typed it. Its crazy to me that the events that took place yesterday were interpeted the way I typed them. I also have a compulsive shopping problem. The real account of my shopping yesterday (as pieced together with my wife) was as follows. I went shopping when I was drunk. I had removed the tags of the shoes when I got home so I could try and hide the purchase from her. My wife came home and was not pleased that I had purchased several items that are not things that we "need" because we do not have very much money to waste when it comes to paying bills. Per my wife, in my drunken stupor, I hastily grabbed a random pair of shoes and left to return them. I (vaguely remember) argueing at the store that they were the tags that were on the shoes when I bought them and that I had just purchased them. In my head I believed this at the time which is why I kept insisting. I even asked security to check the tapes because I had just purchased them that day. The shoes I tried to return were new, but were the wrong brand, size, and color when compared to the tag that was placed on them. My original post was what I assumed happened with regards to my attempted return while in a drunken stupor before falling asleep for the night, still trying to figure out what exactly I did while at the store and guessing at my possible reasoning for being there. Should I just go to the store to explain this to the loss prevention people? Or is it too late and whatever events that may occur in terms of prosecution are already set in motion?
Also, I take the El trains for travel if anyone is concerned about me drinking and driving. My drunk brain still refuses to get behind the wheel.
