I am working in US in work visa, I was charged with petty theft and did not had any jail time but had to pay fine .now I am applying for visa extension & extension Petition is filed by my company’s attorney.
it qualifies for petty offence exception . Is there any case of success in New visa with CIMT and getting petty offence exception ?

It is possible. ENgage an attorney to assist to be sure you have all required documents.

I do not understand why thieves think that is acceptable conduct in the US and after committing a crime worry about the consequences. If you are in the US on a work visa, you are well paid and certainly should be able to afford to pay for what you take.
