Q: specifically what's the Statute of Limitations on Perjury in Kentucky, but also GA...? and how would a layman go about reading Criminal Codes for different states?
A: Google.
man, i've been web developing for 6 years SOLID (minus those "sleeping" hours) - i LIVE in google. i've been GOOGLING this subject for two hours. it has taken that long to discover that the Statute of Limitations on Perjury for Rhode Island is 10 years, and the Statute of Limitations for Perjury in New York WAS 1 year until they changed it to 2 years. as for the other 48 states, i have YET to even find how to look up Criminal Code since the Title and Chapter for each state is completely different. Cornell Law has all the Codes for all the states, but i can make neither Heads nor Tails of it because i'm a Web Designer, not a Senior Judge, HENCE my query in here for some help from a kindhearted soul who could show me such a site DESIGNED for the stupid, and not one for the brilliant legal types who know but would rather just type "GOOGLE".
Are you really a Judge? wow.
beautiful, THANKS, sir...
right - i found those, but have no idea where to look for Statutes of Limitations - Rhode Islands was 12.12.117 - Title 12 in KY is NOT the same.
Forgive me, i don't know how to read research these things... can you tell me where I'd find the articels on Statutes of Limitations? thanks
In the Georgia link, click on "9" under "titles", then click on "9-3" under "chapters" and start reading.
Each state has different numbers for their statutes.
In Kentucky, it appears to be in Chapter 413. There are other chapters, look for "TITLE XXXVI - STATUTORY ACTIONS AND LIMITATIONS".
Good luck.
