Caught with Ecstasy and Marijuana

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

I was smoking weed at a business parking lot around 10 in my car. I had found around 20 pills at a rave before, and kept them in the same "stash bag" that i kept my smoking stuff in(worst mistake of my life). cops roll through, search me, and ask if there is any other drugs. i say no, he find the bag with the e. I had 2 in a altoid can, which i told them was to sneak in to raves, and the rest was in a separate bag.i had less than a gram of weed which i don't care but im worried about how many pills i had. they only put me down for H+S 11377(A), which i believe is for posession, and i have no txt messages that indicate selling. they took me to the county jail, where i stayed the night, and they let me go in the morning. Ive never been caught with anything, currently a full time student. im freaking out hard at the moment.
at first they told me my bail was at 20,000 but they let me go on OR. I have about 50 days till the court date. What are some things i could do till then?
1)my parents don't make that money so i think i qualify for a public defender
2)ive heard they usually make you go to drug programs, but how extensive or expensive are they?
3) can they look at your social media to look for evidence as well?

How old are you?

1. This is not a question. One way or another you need a lawyer.
2. You do one individual counseling and one group session per week and periodic drug testing. Additional things may be required. It isn't cheap.
3. Certainly, though it's not clear why they would need to do this if they only intend to charge you with the possession of X which you're clearly guilty of.
Of course, if you are offering up drugs (even to give away) on social media, they might want to amend that charge.

just want to emphasize that:

giving away your drugs to others is distribution. It does not require selling them.


and apparently there is evidence on your "social media" that is damaging. Why do people do stupid things like that? Nothing is truly private and while you think you can delete something, you're wrong. It's always there, somewhere, lurking about waiting to jump out and bite you in the ass.
