Can You Get a Ticket for Driving on Suspended Based On Your Admission
My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Illinois.
Can you get a ticket for driving on suspended by only admitting you drove?
Re: Can You Get a Ticket for Driving on Suspended Based On Your Admission
It will depend on the facts. There would normally have to be some evidence other than your confession, even if modest, that you drove.

Under what circumstances would anybody be foolish enough to admit they drove if the only evidence that they drove was their own admission.
Sorry, but I fail to see what sense your question makes.
If you did get a ticket just by admitting you drove then it should be obvious that you CAN get a ticket that way if you DID get a ticket that way.
If you didn't get a ticket that way, then what's the point of asking the question the way you have asked it?
Re: Can You Get a Ticket for Driving on Suspended Based On Your Admission
It was 3:30am when three cops came to my house and started banging on my door and as soon as I answered the door started asking me questions left and right about an accident that I was supposedly seen running from at 2am when I was clearly at home sleeping. So still half asleep I blindly told the officer that I had drove my self earlier that evening. and he arrested me right then and there on my porch for driving on suspended. Was not sure if it was legal for them to do that or if they did it to scare me into admitting I ran from an accident

Arrested? as in taken into custody, transported, fingerprinted and confined pending arraignment?
or
Cited, as in given a citation to appear on or before a certain date.

not sure how being found sleeping an hour an a half after the accident proves you were not involved in the accident. Apparently the police did not believe it did either.

is it legal to arrest you if you admit to committing a crime, one that they believe you had actually committed as well? Sure it is. Whether it was due to the accident or not, they believed you had committed the crime of driving while your license was suspended. You admitting to the fact you did was not a wise move.

So the police have (a) evidence that the car was driven and crashed, (b) evidence in the form of witness testimony that you fled the accident scene, and (c) your confession. That's plenty to support a conviction.
Did you ever offer an explanation for how your car was driven and crashed, other than by you?
Re: Can You Get a Ticket for Driving on Suspended Based On Your Admission
IThe car that was crashed was only registered to me. it was my boyfriends car. there is my black car which i got the ticket for driving on suspended for and his car the blue one that was in the accident . my mother had taken me somewhere earlier that night in my car and then came and got me at 11pm. i fell asleep and oke up at 3:30am to them pounding on my door asking me what was going on and some one had seen me running from my boyfriends car. which i wasn't. then they asked me how i got up town and i told them i drove i was still half asleep and the officer arrested me and took me to the police station where i bonded myself out.

I'm not really interested in trying to discuss a case where relevant facts are withheld until after an analysis has been provided. Talk over the details with your lawyer and see what he suggests.

so now your story changes to your mom drove you. Hhmmm, now all you have to do is sell it to everybody that matters.
and hope the eyewitness is not dependable.
