Does a Minor Have the Right to Date an Adult
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Texas. I'm 16 and im dating a 24 year old male. I've been told i wasn't aloud to date him by many people but he has been a friend of the family since i remember. Me and him are great friends but I don't want him to get in trouble for dating me. So I was wondering if he could get into trouble for it or if we are safe to continue dating. And so you know there is no intercourse and no talk about intercourse until im 18 and he fully agrees with me.

Sweetie, you have no business with a 24 year-old man.

If your parents say No, it's No. If your parents say Yes, they're idiots who probably shouldn't be trusted to raise a cat, let alone a teenaged girl.

It is a rule of this site we do provide information to enable adults to play with children. Potentially he could have charges pressed against him. You figure out what they are and how they would happen. Stay away from adults, get good grades, go to college and make your own life.

Like i said tho, he has been a friend of the family for many years now and he has protected me from gross men before. Okay, so i see your point... im 16 and i should not date him. I'll break up with him but i will remain friends with him cause he's been there for me to talk to when I've been crying and he knows how to make me happy when no one else can. Thanks for the advice.
