Ticket for Going Straight from Left Turn Lane, VC 22101d
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
County:San Diego
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d11/vc22101.htm
It was 4 in the morning when I'm heading towards this intersection on this road:

I was on the one that said Santa Fe Only.
It was dark and I did not notice that it was a left turn lane.
There was a green light to go straight and literally nobody around, so I turned into the through lane.
Then the cameras started to flash.
I have not yet received the ticket, but I'm expecting it. I want to know how I can fight this ticket or reduce the cost or not receive a point.
Can anybody help, please?

You can attempt to defend based upon your failure to observe the restrictions before making the turn, but that's not a defense that is normally successful. You can consider traffic school. You can contact the prosecutor to see whether they'll offer a deal.
