Kentucky Emancipation Law
I am 21 years old and i have a little brother who is having a really hard time living at home with my mother. She is not a stable person. i know from first hand first hand how she and her husband are. Her husband likes to use viloent threats like "snapping my brother in two" or that he will "put him in the hospital" or "give him a broken jaw." I know that it is serious because when i lived there he would hit me or send me literally through a wall. My mother likes to use verbal abuse on my brother and has made a hobby of calling the cops trying to have him locked up with some of the off the wall stories that are never true.
So my question is, is there a way that my little brother can be emanicpated and come live with me until he turns of age? There is no way that my mother will just sign over custody of him and i know that i can support him. My boyfriend and i have good jobs and can take care of him. So is an emancipation a option for us to get him out of mother's house and into mine?
Okay... So what is the emancipation law
Are you saying that a court permitted emancipation under common law? If you know of an emancipation statute, please cite it.

Note: 2000 House Bill 247 didn't even pass in the house. If you don't know the difference between a failed bill and legislation, please don't post.
