If you dont have the money than you can request a Public Defender, however most PD's do little more than offer a plea deal remember they work in courthouse for same people as DA! Seek a criminal defense Lawyer that offers a free consulatation

That's highly misleading. Professional public defenders offices give good legal representation. The quality of a system that depends upon court appointments - private lawyers who are assigned by the court to represent indigent defendants - will vary significantly based upon local policies (and the amount paid for the work performed), but many of the same lawyers who take private clients are also on the list to accept appointments. The best and worst criminal defense practitioners tend to be in private practice.

Ok quick disclaimer. Its been my experieince that a Public defender listens little to client and is quick to offer plea deal ratehr than court fight! I will say my experience or knowledge of this is limited but based on what I have seen and heard its my opinion and MINE alone!

Well, I guess i'm just looking for something free, or REALLY cheap. I did something wrong, and now im learning my lesson. I just want to go in there tell them i did it, i know it was wrong and im sorry and get the best possible outcome that i can in this situation. Meaning...like not going to jail, or paying a lot of money, or having a criminal record. So i guess i just am looking for someone to guide me and help me through this.

You want a lot! lets break it down

"not going to jail" Well its VERY unlikely a first time offender will see any jail so you can relax on that one. Not a gurantee but very unlikely

"or paying a lot of money"

Fines are what they are they are not negotiable however you can pay in payments in most cases

    "or having a criminal record"

any conviction will result in a criminal record what you can do is ask either the DA or your Attorney (court appointed or private) if diversion is option this can help you avoid a conviction on your record

" i just am looking for someone to guide me and help me through this"

That is what your Attorney should be doing! Court appointed or private!

thanks for helping out. I know i will have to pay money, there is not getting around it. i'm just concerned how much. the security officer originally told me like 800-900 dollars. so i dont know if that is total...or if there would be even more money i would owe. I still have not received the letter in the mail about what im being charged with.
