Will Juvenile Records Affect Future Employment
Hi guys so when I was 13 I stole and got caught at Shopko stealing led pencils and led since my mom wouldn't buy me it.. I went to court and the judge said he would't put it on my record. I feel like its still on my juvenile record. By the way this is my first offense ever and still is. I am now 18 and pretty scared to look for a job fearing it my record. Does this effect my employment status. I was pretty small and dumb.
Re: Will Juvenile Records Affect Future Employment
If we are to guess that this is a Wisconsin juvenile record, and assume without any basis both that you were adjudicated and that the judge misled you, absent a very serious charge or trial in adult court the record is sealed from public view. You would be eligible to seek an expungement of the adjudication at age 17, pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes § 938.355(4m).
