Driving While Waiting for Renewed Driver's License in the Mail
My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: California

Hello, i just renewed my driver's license, a week before it's expiration. According to the DMV, it'll take 2-4 week for my new driver's license to arrive in the mail.

I was wondering if it's legal or OK to still drive with an expired driver's license while waiting for the renewed driver's license to arrive in the mail.

You should have received a temporary license that is good for 90 days.

When you renew by mail, you're at the DMV's mercy. They've been better in the last couple of years, but for a while you could wait for 6 months.

leev18, you should be okay provided the DMV records reflect a valid license and you are in possession of the previous one. If cited, it should be correctable.
