Getting Emancipated While Unable to Support Yourself
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Emancipation

I am 17 years old and looking to get emancipated. i know i have to have a job which is why im not trying to emancipate at this time. but i have a family friend whos father already agreed i could live with them and i agreed to pay rent as needed. my legal guardians already said if i wanted to emancipate i could my only question is what is the likeliness of me actually getting emancipated? with a job and house to reside is that enough to get emancipated? thanks for any and all help.

About next to none and slim just left town. Leave when you turn 18.

You're not getting emancipated. Emancipation isn't freeing you from parental enslavement, it's a recognition that an INDEPENDENTLY LIVING minor needs relief from certain restrictions like the inability to enter into contracts. If your parents allow you to live elsewhere, that is fine, but it's not emancipation.

I get the distinct feeling that your parents are trying to prove a point.

Indiana doesn't have an emancipation statute.

Emancipation means that you are living on your own and paying all of your own expenses. It does not mean that you are living with a family friend and paying a token rent. If that is your plan for independent living, then the answer to your question is, EVEN IF YOUR STATE HAD AN EMANCIPATION STATUTE the answer would still be No Chance At All.
