No Contact with Children Following Temporary Custody Order
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: West Virginia & Pennsylvania. In November my ex husband (who has a violent past) was granted temp. custody of our children. He has not provided me any contact information and even deleted their facebook accounts so I could not contact them. My 13 yrs old recently secretly created a faccbook account and contacted me. I found out less then a month after he was granted temp custody of our 5 kids he sent 2 of them to live with his mother in Florida due to the fact he is not working. The day after my daughter contacted me they must of discovered her facebook account as it was deactivated. Is his custody order still valid for the 2 the are not even residing in the same state with him? Legal aid in PA can't help me as custody order was granted in WV and WV legal aid won't help me as I am not a resident of there. I am at my wits end and do not know what my next steps is.

The custody order is valid until the court modifies the order.

A typical custody order would include visitation provisions, and usually will include a requirement for keeping the other parent aware of your address, and often will include provisions for contact with the children in-between visits. You have not told us what level of access you had under the existing order. If something was going on in your life that so concerned the judge that the order gives you no access and does not require your ex- to keep you informed about where the children reside, you need to discuss your case with your lawyer.

If you cannot get legal aid assistance in West Virginia without moving to that state you need to consider (a) moving to that state, (b) representing yourself (something I don't think is a good idea in most cases, including custody cases), or (c) retaining a lawyer in West Virginia.
