Craigslist Extortion Case

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Oregon/California

I was involved in an extortion case with an "underage girl" who was claiming to be underage after I first emailed her. I agreed to engage in sexual acts with her and some dirty words were exchanged, and I got an email from the "mother". I agreed to help pay for "therapy" for $3,000.

We are in two separate states, so is this even worth getting into legally? Can I sue? Will police get involved?

To be clear 1.) Did you pay her the $3000? 2.) Did any contact occur outside of the emails?
