Can You Get Emancipated if Your Parents are Too Strict
My question involves guardianship in the State of: Virginia I'm a fifteen year old (10/02/1998) female and I'd like to be emancipated if at all possible.
I moved to Virginia about six months ago with my father and step mother. Previously I had lived with them for three years in Pennsylvania. I had to testify before that in Judge's Chambers because my mother and her step husband were violent and my life had been threatened, and there was no doubt in my mind I would die if I didnt get out soon. Since then ive been diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety and panic disorders. Recently they've all been revoked. I maintain A's and high B's in all of my classes except Latin, and im part of AFJROTC, I have no criminal or disiplanary records and working papers in the state of Pennsylvania.
My parents dont drive me to school events yet alone personal things im grounded all the time for trivial things and outside communication is revoked. In addition they've made it clear they dont want me im an inconvience. And they wont allow me to get a permit or working papers in Virginia. In addition they dont bring me to doctors appointments regularly and I'm not sure if Im elligable for emancipation but my mother wants to try for custody again (she now resides in Texas, where I have no ties to family or the community) and im scared I dont know what to do, and advise would be appreciated.

You have no chance whatsoever of being emancipated. If you had read the stickies as instructed, you'd know why.

PTSD occurs because the person has been exposed to severe trauma. The psychiatrist obviously saw something.

Given that you aren't a candidate for emancipation, and given that it's incredibly unlikely for Mom to regain custody at this point, I'm not sure what to tell you. Are you in therapy?
