Running Away After Getting Caught Stealing
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Ohio
I got caught stealing a case of cookies that was priced around $4. When I left the store I had a worker chase after me and when I pulled out he may have taken a picture of my plates. What are the chances of the police showing up at more door? Also, if I get caught what will happen. I plan on joining the military after I finish high school (I'm 17) and was wondering if this could hurt my chances of getting in. Thanks for the help.
Note: I realize what I did was wrong, and I'm done stealing. This is way too much stress. I won't risk my future doing something stupid like this again.
Re: Caught Shoplifting. Store May Have My License Plate
It depends on if the store decided to file a police report. If yes, the police can come knocking on the door, or send a court summons.
Yes, if charges are filed, you may have lost your chance at joining the military.
Re: Caught Shoplifting. Store May Have My License Plate
If they do file a police report then how long will it take for them to come for me?
Re: Caught Shoplifting. Store May Have My License Plate
They may not come for you at all. You may find out about a warrant when you're pulled over for a traffic violation, or have a background check performed.
Re: Caught Shoplifting. Store May Have My License Plate
They would put out a warrant for stealing $4 worth of stuff?
Re: Caught Shoplifting. Store May Have My License Plate
Your elevator clearly stops well short of the top floor....
When you choose to commit crimes, you can be charged with the crimes you commit. When you are charged with a crime, a warrant can be issued for your arrest.
Re: Caught Shoplifting. Store May Have My License Plate
So, how much do you think you should be allowed to steal before anyone takes any action to hold you accountable for it?
