What Happens if You Miss a Child Support Hearing
My question involves child support in the State of: TN

If a hearing is scheduled for a date and due to weather conditions (snow and ice on the roads), the petitioner cannot make it what happens at the hearing? The court was called but the petitioner was told that court would still be in session even with conditions as they were.

It was the initial hearing for child support.

    Thanks

The petitioner needs to have made the court aware, if not actually asking to reschedule.

The court can't really penalize a bad weather no-show. Well, technically they can, but it should be easy enough to fix it even after the date.

Either support was set properly or it was not. If it was, there's nothing to worry about. If it was not, you can petition the court to revisit its order based upon whatever evidence you would have presented if present at the hearing.
