Protecting an Idea When Presenting it to Others

So I just wanna ask about my next move .
I came up with an idea and my plan is to move to Australia ,so my question is how do I proceed ?
Do I have to patent it somehow or just sign a non-disclosure agreement with the group of people I intend to demonstrate the idea ?
I'd like to know spessificly about Australia :) All help is welcome and you have my gratitude :)

Specifically about Australia? That's an odd request to make on a board that clearly instructs you that it's only for U.S. legal questions.
