Travel for a Honeymoon on a Fiancée Visa
Me and my fiancé are getting married in November. We already have a paid trip to the Bahamas for our honeymoon to depart from the US. I've read so much about the Visas B2 and K1 and all the procedures I need to do to get her to live here. This post isn't about what I need to do to to legally have her come to the US to marry and live here. My question is; can she fly outside of the US (to Bahamas) with either B2 or K1 visa? If no, is there any other procedure that can be done to make this possible? When we booked our honeymoon, we thought her visa B2 was enough. But as we looked into the matter, seems like it might not be possible. Any light on the matter would be very much appreciated.

    FYI: I'm a US citizen.

It appears she has a problem if she has both a B2 and a K1 visa. They signal no immigration intent and immigration intent.

    She can't have both simultaneously.

    You are making a mess...

Go get a consult with an immigration attorney before you make the mess so big that you end up married to someone who cannot stay in the US.

If she enters on a B2 visa she can leave the country and return, but she cannot stay permanently...or at least not without a whole lot of major hassle.

If she enters on a K1 visa she can get a green card and can stay permanently, but she cannot leave the country until she gets the green card.

It was a serious mistake to plan a honeymoon outside of the US.

What if I move to Mexico?? Moving to Mexico was an option long before we encouter this issue. And it wouldn't be aproblem for me. I have a Sentry card which I can cross the border in less than 10 minutes and I work in San Diego. She literally lives about 30 mins aways from my SD house. If I move to Mexico with her, my job would be 20 mins away. My job is much closer to the border than my house is. would she still need K visas? Or does the B2 allow her to come to the US (from Bahamas). I read on CBP website that as long as she can prove the her intent is to return to Mexico, then its fine, which if we chose to this option (me moving to MX) then we would in fact not be lying about her going back to mexico. After our trip I would get her to apply for K3. Any thoughts on this..? Thanks for all the inputs by the way.

By the way... On having B2 and K1 visas. She will obviously surrender her B2 once she applies for K1, considering that CPB will catch up on that and will invalidate her B2 once they see she is applying for a K visa.
