Custodial Parent Wants to Move to Another City in the Same State
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Florida. I am the "custodial parent" and I'm planning on moving to another city in the same state. My ex and I only have a child support order, nothing about custody or visitation. He sees the children maybe once a week, by see I mean he shows up at my house for a couple of hours and then leaves. He occasionally keeps them overnight and by occasionally I mean maybe once a month. All of this is his choice, that's all the time he can make to come and see them and we only live 15 minutes away from each other.
I am currently engaged and planning to move 2.5 hours away into my fiances house, the schools in his area are better and there are better job opportunities for me (I am a stay at home mom right now).
My question is can he fight me on my move? I know I have to notify the Child Support Department of my move, but legally how do I have to go about notifying the father?

Well, if you're a SAHM, you can't really use "better job opps" as a reason.
Florida has an in-state "50 mile" rule. In other words, if you plan to relocate further than 50 miles you'll be serving Dad with the proper notice. If he doesn't agree, off to court you both go.
