Will Making Partial Payments of Child Support Prevent Collections or Contempt
My question involves child support in the State of: WI
I notified court that I have been unemployed but am still making partial child support payments. I was told that as long as I make effort, WI would not put lien on my residence or pull my driver's license or take my taxes etc. However I received a letter telling me that WI may put lien on my home, freeze my bank accounts etc. This is contradictory as to what the clerk told me on the phone. Is the clerk correct or the letter? My daughter is 18 & graduates in June.
Re: Raminfications for Partial Child Support Payment in Wi
The clerk is not the one who enforces support orders. Child Support Enforcement does.

The letter is correct. They can use all enforcement measures to collect unpaid support, even if you are making an attempt.
