    Uncontested divorce in Michigan
    I Filed for divorce from my husband, he did not contest it before the 21 day waiting period, now he is mad at me and wants to stop the divorce, can he do that the default judgement has already been filed?? Please help me should I get a lawyer? The final date has already been set.

    Michigan has no fault divorce. Assuming the court finds that "There has been a breakdown in the marriage relationship to the extent that the objects of matrimony have been destroyed and there remains no reasonable likelihood that the marriage can be preserved", the court will grant a divorce over the objection of a spouse. (I can count the number of cases I personally know of where a court has declined a divorce on one hand - with several fingers to spare.)
