How to Stop a Parent from Getting Full Legal Custody
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Alaska
I know that since my mom has full physical custody of me she can take me anywhere. But since she shares legal custody, she would not be able to take me to the doctors, enroll me into a new school, or do anything else without his consent. My mom wants to move to Hawaii and she has court next Friday. She is hoping that with the note one of my counselors gave her and listing previous things my dad has done could get her full legal custody.
If it does not get it for her, what would? I absolutely do not want my mom to be stuck in Alaska because of me. Is there any tricks or tips anyone might have as to getting my mother full legal custody of me?

you would be wrong in that assumption.
no tips or tricks and unless your fathers actions warrant him not having shared legal custody, it isnt going to happen.
Besides that, even if your mother had sole legal custody, it would not permit her to take you to Hawaii without the courts permission. Then, your mother would likely be responsible for travel costs required for your father's visitation periods since the distance was created by your mother.

There's a post hx here, folks.
Alissa, I'm not a family law expert so I'm not going to attempt to answer your question, but by reviewing your previous posts others might have a better idea what the situation is. Hang tight.

so your mother wants to move to Hawaii...and take you, even after you posted this:

My mother keeps threatening to kick my out because she says I am the cause of her and my step-dad fighting. She tells me I get all the attention and stuff because I am the oldest out of 6 children.

It sounds more like Alicia does not want to go and is looking for an out.

If the court says mom can move, she can move even if the court continues joint legal custody. There's less to joint legal custody than you appear to believe.
