Can I Refuse to Give the Father Access if His Schedule is Inconvenient
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Ohio.

I'm an unmarried mother of two. The father only takes them when it is convenient for him. He gets mad at me and says I never let him see them, but when I offer to let him have them he refuses to take them. I'm tired of it.

All I want to know is:

    1. Do I have to let him see them? We have no court ordered custody agreements.

    2. Do I have to let him know where the kids and I are staying?

I would really appreciate answers. Thanks!

    1. Nope.

    2. No - but it's a common courtesy.

If and when you get an order, the answer to both questions will be yes.

Until then, the answer is no. Make your decisions based on what you think is best for your kids.

Thanks for the replies! He's not going to see them if he doesn't care about them.

    Stop right there Mom.

He doesn't have to care about them in order to get an enforceable visitation plan. He can be just about the crappiest parent on the planet and he'll still get some sort of visitation.

    I don't think that's what she meant...
