Marrying a Citizen Who Can't Afford to Sponsor You
    Hi,
I am a f1 student and want to marry my boyfriend who is a US citizen. He is currently unemployed but has been employed in the year 2012. He has lots of money in savings. Can we get married and he can sponsor me or what other options he has as he is looking to starting a business and can't find a job right now.

    Thanks,

Here's an article about F1 student marrying a US citizen:

But I wouldn't rely on just that.

Call the USCIS and make sure of what you have to do before you do it.

Technically he can sponsor you, yes - IF the government decides that he has enough in savings to ensure his ability to comply with the affidavit of support and if he can convince them that he'll be able to maintain compliance.

This is a situation that really needs to be discussed with a competent immigration attorney. There are many out there and many will provide a low- or no-cost initial consultation.
