    Protective Order and Personal Property
My question involves restraining orders in the State of: TEXAS

I am the victim of a family violence incident last week. I am a single female. I have an emergency protective order. The offender had been living in my home for 1 month and in the state for a total of 2. He did not work and was not contributing to the household. He does have personal property in the home, including firearms. He was released on Wednesday and sent me an email and text message asking for his things. I have been informed he can contact me if in a 'non-threatening' manner by the local sheriff. However, his message is asking me to transport his items to him, in another town. He has many bulky items and, as mentioned, firearms. Not only would I be required to make 2-4 trips to deliver these items, but I have no wish to be directly in contact with him or alone with him, even in a public place. I do not want to see him, talk to him, or be near him. He is a very unstable person, has done many things to frighten me, refused to leave me home after I requested it (prior to incident) and makes me very uncomfortable to be around. I realize he needs his items but I am not comfortable being the only person to transport them. As I am new to this area, I do not have any friends/family that I am comfortable asking to do this either. He does not have any friends that are able to come collect his property, which is why he insists I bring it to him. I have tried calling the sheriff, the county office, women's shelters, etc trying to figure out what my options are. I have not replied to his messages yet (it has not been 24 hours since his request) because I do not feel comfortable talking to him. If there is any advice or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. I realize he needs his things, but I am in no way comfortable or able to transport them in the vehicle I own or with how fearful I am that there may be an altercation if he is near me. Please help.

I do not suggest you bring him the guns. Find someone else. I am not familiar with your state's gun laws, so someone else may chime in here.

You need to specifically ask the police is if he allowed to own firearms while under a protective order. If he is not, the police will normally collect the firearms.

As for the rest of his belongings, tell him to hire a moving van to collect his property and bring it to him.
