Employee Caught Switching Price Tags and Stealing at Work
My question involves criminal law for the state of: CA
Hi, I have a question. I got terminated because of employee dishonesty. I sometimes switch the price tag. Lp talk to me and after all 2 hours told me you should pay $1400 back to the company and I said I agree. after 2 months they didn't send me anythings. I don't know what is going on. Police was not involve the problem. I want to know does it go to my record? why they didn't send me anything for the money... is it take more that 2 months? should I do something? If yes what do I need to do?
    Thank you

Keep looking for an unmarked police car to pick you up.

To answer your original question, yes it can take more than 2 months. Try contacting the store to request information on how to start paying on it.

If there were no police, you will not have a criminal record. If you are an adult, you were likely entered into the National Retail Theft Database, which can affect getting jobs in retail.

    Thank you for the answer.
I will wait maybe 2 more weeks and then I will ask them.

so, have you repaid them? If not, your argument that you want to pay the penalty appears to be not true.

I didn't receive anything in mail to pay the money back. As soon as I receive it I will pay

One cannot pay until one knows where to send the payment.

If one wants to make amends, they take action to find out how to make amends. Waiting to be contacted show evidence of a lack of actual desire to make amends as claimed.

Personally, I would suggest the OP wait. For all he knows, the store has been dealing with the police and there is an arrest warrant in the future. Poking the beast is often a way to get the worst reaction. My statement regarding failing to make restitution was based solely on the OP's claim to want to repay and the, so far, failure to make payment.

I will do it for sure.
