I've come up with a truly ingenious idea.

    Stay. Off. Facebook.

    Ta-da! Problem solved!

    Please tip the doorman.

I do not have any legal action against me. People can install software to view who has seen there facebook profile.

Their is no way for someone to know you are viewing their profile, unless you are making comments on it. So something here doesn't add up.

FR, that is SO not true. There are ways to know exactly who visits and when. ETA: and they don't need software to do so.

The whole POINT of Facebook is for people to connect with each other and they cannot do that without occasionally viewing a profile.

I don't image a person knowing. There is software people use to see if there profile has been viewed.

Why would they care? People where I come from will sue for any ridiculous reason. I am just preparing myself for any situation.

You are 100% wrong, their is no such software, only virus that gullible people like you believe in and install.

No their isn't. FB does not show this, and it is all encrypted, people have no access to such information. People are believing in fake information the are seeing.

So many gullible people seeing ads telling them they can learn who visits their profile, and the fact is they can't. All of this information is protected and encrypted by FB, they do not disclose such information. No such software or add-on could gain such information. What they are seeing is malware. These same gullible people install this malware on their computer as well.

If I view a person's facebook profile once or many times. Is that cyberstalking?

That would depend on the nature of the relationship you have with the persons page you are viewing. The person's facebook page you are viewing....what is the nature of the relationship between this person and you? Is it a friend? A business associate? An ex lover? Your ex spouse? A long lost high school or college friend? Or someone you have never met and do not know?

It would also depend on your age, and the age of the person whose facebook page you are regularly viewing. Are you an adult and the person's page you are viewing a minor? Or vice versa? Are you an aunt or uncle? Do you attend secondary school with this person? Or are you both college students around the same age and simply want to friend the person or maybe hook up and ask the person out on a date? If you want to go out on a date what would be wrong with politely asking like any nice person would do? Are you afraid of the person suing you if you ask that person out on a date? I don't believe there are any laws that state it is either illegal or grounds for a lawsuit if you ask an aquaitance out on a date one time.

Are you related to this person and are you trying to establish an extended familial relationship with the person? In other words, what is your actual intent in viewing the persons FB page? If you are viewing it regularly why would you not want to send a friend request? Are you concerned that your friend request would be rejected or worse? And if you are afraid about being rejected - why would you be concerned about it?

Apparently you have a general idea as to what would be the grounds and situation for suing you. What would be those grounds and or situations be that you appear to be so concerned about?

Then you obviously don't use Facebook, because their is no such feature. If someone told you there was then they were lying, or are as gullible as you.
