Tourist Visa Denied Because of Father's Nonimmigrant Status in the USA
I was denied for a US visa because my father is a non immigrant (student visa) in the US and the consul told me she cannot assure that i will come back. My reason for traveling was to visit my grandmother who is receiving chemo and is in bad shape. She wished that she can see me. I already talked to my Hr at work and allowed me to have a 2 weeks leave. I had a certain senator in the Us to write an endorsement letter for me and got it forwarded in to the consul but she did not even bother asking me those papers. I do not understand why she denied me bcos my dad was a nonimmigrant. Can anyone pls enlighten me on this? I have a good job, i have my family here, our house, my mom and 3 sibblings. Honestly i dont really intend to stay long coz of work and charity events that we have planned early ds year.

No im in the philippines. Im still 25 and employed. Im just confuse why the decision was based on my dads status. We didnt wish for my grandma to be ill while my dad's still studying. He is legally a non immigrant in the US.

The reason you were denied is that you have a very close relative living here and they're not convinced that you won't overstay.

Thank you for the response at least somehow it cleared my mind. So that means i wont be able to see my grandma until my dad goes home in our country? What saddens me is that, what i know is, its a medical emergency that my grandma is still in treatment and its not doing that well :( i might not see her again if i cant go to her place this month im getting too depressed thinking about it.
