Falsely Accused of Malicious Destruction of Property
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan
Recently I have been accused of Malicious Destruction of Property. I am not sure who is sewing me and I actually don't know what for all I know is that I am being accused for damages over 1000.00. I have reviewed a few cases online on how anything over 1000.00 is a felony. I have never been accused of anything a day in my life. I am a student and a single mother I was accused in a county other than the one that I live in that's why I am really confused on what is going on. I have received multiple letters from attorneys that are trying to support my case although I have no idea what actually happened. How should I go about this is there any way charges can be dropped if I get an attorney. I'm really scared I have never been in trouble with the law so I am very worried.
Although I do know some months ago my daughters father's girlfriend did accused me of a dint in her car.(which is a car I never seen before and I have never been in the same area as his girlfriend) could that be what I am being accused of even if that incident that they tried to accuse me of happened 3months from the date that I am receiving all these papers from different attorneys. I still did not receive any papers from the court but I can assure that I have never met that girl nor seen her car and I was being falsely of accused of that. We did have some choice words against each other online over a facebook message but other than that I have not seen or talked to her in person.
Someone please help me on what I should do I have no idea on what I should do on my behalf. I appreciate anyone who took the time to read over this thank you in advance.
Re: Falsely Accused of Mdop
You plead not guilty and hire a lawyer. They must prove their case. Do not make any statements to law enforcement. Do not discuss the issue with anyone.
